Two senior USPTO officials, Nancy Kremers and Conrad Wong, are to leave their posts in China
Kremers is the senior attaché representing the USPTO at the US Embassy in Beijing. Wong is the intellectual property rights officer for the USPTO and US Consulate in Guangzhou. Wong opened the Guangzhou USPTO office in 2007.
Kremers’ last day will be June 27, while Wong is expected to serve until the first week of September.
Replacements for the two officials are still being sought. The posts are being advertised here and here, as two-year temporary appointments.
The European Commission has yet to replace Thomas Pattloch, who left his post as IP officer at the EU delegation to China and Mongolia in Beijing last year to join the Munich office of UK full-service law firm Taylor Wessing.
The UK’s first IP attaché, Tom Duke, took up his post in the British Embassy in Beijing in December.
